Coronavirus Information: Summer Commencement

As ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb University continues to prepare for the upcoming Fall 2020 semester, the health and safety of the GWU community remain our top priorities.

As of Tuesday, July 28, the University has only one positive Covid-19 student case remaining on campus in isolation. Five international students, quarantined upon entry into the country, will be released from quarantine on Monday, August 3. We have 2 staff who have tested positive for Covid-19, contracted from known locations off campus, and they are isolating at home. We have 0 faculty positive cases.

As a reminder to faculty and staff, individuals with actual or potential exposure to Covid-19 should notify their supervisor immediately and their supervisor will then notify David Wacaster (704.406.3235), Barry Lane (704.406.2266) and Human Resources—Scott White (704.406.4259) or Frances Sizemore (704.406.3502).

If you are a residential student who has tested positive or has had exposure to a positive case of Covid-19, contact the Dean of Students, Dr. Sarah Currie ([email protected]). Commuter or graduate students who have tested positive, or who have been exposed to a positive case, should report the issue to the Director of Safety, Barry Lane.

It’s important for all of the ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb community to follow health and safety guidelines. Remember we are Bulldogs Together: Ready and Strong.

We all share the responsibility to keep our campus safe. It’s very important for everyone to wear a face covering, wash your hands and respect physical distancing guidelines.

Summer Commencement

As a reminder, Summer Commencement, which had been scheduled for August 1, has been rescheduled for October 23.

For the latest information, modifications and updates for the fall semester, you should visit to Coronavirus information page regularly.

Stay safe and well, Bulldogs.
