category: Advisory Coronavirus Information By ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï-Webb University On August 7, 2020 Bulldogs Together: Ready and Strong As ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï-Webb University continues to prepare for the upcoming Fall 2020 semester, the health and safety of the GWU community remain our top priorities. As of Friday August 7, ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï-Webb has no (zero) confirmed cases of COVID-19 on campus. We have no (zero) students in quarantine or isolation. We have six international students on campus who are in 14-day mandatory quarantine. None of those students is showing any symptoms. We have no (zero) faculty/staff in quarantine waiting to be tested or waiting on their test results. We have one staff member who has tested positive and is currently in isolation at home. This person has not been on campus and is not considered to be a threat. It is important to keep in mind that these numbers represent a snapshot of the current situation. Until there is a vaccine, the situation will remain fluid. ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï-Webb will always be connected to the larger world, so it is essential for all of the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï-Webb community to follow health and safety guidelines. Remember, we are Bulldogs Together: Ready and Strong. We all share the responsibility to keep our campus safe. It’s very important for everyone to wear a face covering, routinely wash your hands, and respect physical distancing guidelines. As a reminder to faculty and staff, anyone with actual or potential exposure to COVID-19 should notify their supervisor immediately and their supervisor will then notify David Wacaster (704.406.3235), Barry Lane (704.406.2266), and Human Resources—Scott White (704.406.4259) or Frances Sizemore (704.406.3502). If you are a residential student who has tested positive or has had exposure to a positive case of COVID-19, contact the Dean of Students, Dr. Sarah Currie. Commuter or graduate students who have tested positive, or who have been exposed to a positive case, should report the issue to the Director of Safety, Barry Lane. Student Support The state of North Carolina has allocated relief money for North Carolina independent colleges and universities as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. A portion of these NC COVID-19 Relief Funds have been received by ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï-Webb University. The distribution of these funds has begun and GWU has already distributed $148,518 to students. That brings the total amount of funding given to our students since March to $2,121,694. This includes federal and state aid, Flex account refunds and emergency relief funds raised directly by ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï-Webb.
