category: Advisory Community Update: Welcome Back, COVID-19 Testing and Executive Orders Extended By ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb University On January 8, 2021 Welcome back, Bulldogs! We all hope that your holidays were pleasant and restful, and we extend a big Happy New Year to each of you!! At ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb, we are optimistic about 2021 and we very much look forward to a full and vibrant semester with you on campus. Before you pack up your red and black gear and head to the Springs, here are a few important reminders: All students (including commuters) returning to campus in January for class must be tested for COVID-19 before they return to their residence halls or before attending class. Individual student ID cards, which include residence hall access, will not be activated until a negative test is received. All residential students also need to schedule an ID Card Reactivation Time Block. If you have not already done so, please log-in to your Housing Self Service Portal in WebbConnect and select an ID Card Reactivation Time Block. If you have questions, please contact [email protected]. Student-athletes reporting before January 10, 2021 will be notified of their process by Athletics. Free on-campus COVID-19 testing will be conducted January 10 and 12, from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, and on January 11 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. All students will be tested inside in the LYCC on the second floor. These are Rapid-Tests and will only take approximately 20 minutes to complete. These tests will be performed on a first-come, first-served basis. Rapid-Tests are required for all students returning to campus for class unless: You provide documentation at time of check-in of a negative COVID-19 test in the 72 hours prior to returning to campus or,You provide documentation at time of check-in of a positive COVID-19 test in the 90 days prior to returning to campus. A positive Rapid-Test returned on January 10, 11 or 12 will require immediate isolation either on campus or by returning home. Executive Orders Extended This week North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper extended the statewide curfew through January 29, 2021. This curfew is in effect from 10:00 pm until 5:00 am. It will continue to impact our residential students who have remained on campus and our students returning to campus over the coming days. As you travel back to campus, please adjust your plans accordingly. Residential students will need to be in their own residence halls by 10:00 pm and remain there until 5:00 am, or they will be in violation of the Governor’s curfew. It’s going to be more important than ever that we mask up, wash our hands and keep a safe distance on campus. Let’s protect the bubble so we can stay Bulldogs Together!
