Community Update: Only three weeks from the end of the semester

The number of cases of COVID-19 on campus this week has dropped! Thanks to the Runnin’ Bulldog family for doing their part. We are only three weeks from the end of the semester and while we are turning  the “COVID Cornerâ€, we have to continue to mask up and keep our distance while we finish the semester!

Current Data

As of today, April 9, ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb has three positive cases of COVID-19 among residential undergraduate students in isolation on campus. We have one residential undergraduate student who has tested positive and is in isolation at home. We have four residential undergraduate students in quarantine on campus and five residential undergraduate students in quarantine at home.

There are 0 (no) commuter/graduate students with COVID-19 and there are two in quarantine at home.

Students with questions regarding classroom attendance or other student support while in isolation or quarantine should contact Dean of Students, Lesley Villarose, at [email protected]. This includes students who might need access to a desktop computer or laptop.

Among our faculty and staff there are 0 (no) positive cases of COVID-19 and we have 0 (no) faculty/staff members in quarantine.

It is very important to remember that if you have symptoms you must report them immediately.  Do NOT come to campus or go to class or work with symptoms.

Remember that all employees are allowed a maximum of 10 days of paid leave if they are confirmed to have COVID-19 or are required to quarantine or isolate due to contact tracing or while awaiting test results.

Vaccine Update

Thanks to our partners at the Cleveland County Health Center the vaccination event on campus this week went very well. More than 300 students received the Pfizer Vaccine. If you got your shot that day, you have to return to the LYCC at the same time on April 30, to get your second shot. Without the second shot, you will not be able to avoid quarantine so put that appointment on your calendar now!

Anyone with follow-up questions can contact Barry Lane  at [email protected] or (704) 297-6988.

Commencement Reminders

Remember that Spring Commencement is May 7 and 8. ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb University is pleased to announce that North Carolina Speaker of the House, State Representative Tim Moore from Kings Mountain will be our Commencement speaker.

Stay healthy, Bulldogs!
