category: Advisory Community Update: Let’s have a successful semester By ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb University On February 12, 2021 It’s the middle of February and the number of COVID-19 cases in the GWU family remains low. In fact, in Cleveland County the number of new cases, positivity rate, and hospitalizations are all down. This is good news for all of us on campus and for our nearby communities, too…but we can’t let up. Just do it: wear that mask, wash those hands, and give everybody at least six feet of distance. We can all have a successful semester right here in The Springs…if we keep up the good work! Current Data As of today, February 12, ÍøÆسԹÏ-Webb has three positive cases of COVID-19 among residential undergraduate students in isolation on campus. We have five residential undergraduate students who have tested positive and are in isolation at home. We have six residential undergraduate students in quarantine on campus and 16 residential undergraduate students in quarantine at home. There is one commuter/graduate student with COVID-19 in isolation at home, and there is one in quarantine at home. Students with questions regarding classroom attendance or other student support while in isolation or quarantine should contact Dean of Students, Lesley Villarose, at [email protected]. Among our faculty there is one positive case of COVID-19 in isolation. We have one staff member positive with COVID-19 in isolation at home. We have 10 faculty/staff members in quarantine at home. Vaccinations Vaccinations are being handled primarily through insurance providers or county health organizations. The University is not involved in determining those processes. To make sure you receive the information, you need to have current emergency contact information on file. Please take a moment to review or update your contact information via WebbConnect.
